Materials List for Floral Tile Jewelry Construction and Design
The following items are included in the $10 materials fee and will be provided to you:Â
• Stretch elastic, eyelets, earring findings
• Plastic stock for templates
• Polishing paper
• Tiny applicators for TLS
• Gold, copper and/or silver leaf
• Use of texture sheets, skinner blend plugs and leafing pens
• A number of detailed hand outs, templates, and index cards, deli wrap and skewersÂ
Necessary tools to bring with you to the class:
• 4 oz black clay (I strongly recommend Kato Polyclay, however you may use any brand of polymer clay except Sculpey III.)
• 4 ounces of clay in your choice of colors to make skinner blends for your flowers
• 6 ounces of white to make flower canes
• 4 ounces of leaf green for leaves (To make your own leaf green start with green polymer clay then add small amounts of red, brown, and or gold to achieve a more natural leaf color,
• 4 ounces of gold, 4 oz of translucent. My favorite translucent is a 50/50 mix of Fimo and Sculpey III translucent, and if you mix together one block of each you will get the right amount: 4 oz)Â
• Ruler that features both inches and millimeters
• Thomas Scientific tissue blade (brand new) I will have these available for sale at the class for $3.00 each
• Pasta Machine (motors ARE permitted and encouraged)
• 2 ounces scrap clay
• additional blade (any)
• X-acto or scalpel
• hollow lucite roller (you CAN use a solid one, but hollow is best. I will have them for sale at the class for $6.00)
• liquid sculpey in squeeze bottle (I’ll have some available for use if you don’t have this) • super glue (Zap-a-Gap or similar)(I’ll have some available for use if you don’t have this)
