Thanks for your comments on the necklace I posted last week. The reason your first comment hasn't shown up yet is that I get hundreds of spam comments for everything from Viagra to refinancing and everything in between and I just delete the notifications in batches because I so infrequently get an actual comment. I have to approve the comments individually, or else I'd have all those spam ones showing up in the site, and I haven't gotten the chance to go on and go through the actual comments...so I miss some in the process. As for the necklace, well, the inspiration was tiger lilies...I've loved them since I was a little kid and used to pick them for my mom in a boggy area in our back woods. I used to make lots of dimensional flowers back in the early 90s, but never did much with canes for petals because I was not much of a caner then. Now that I do so much caning, and after taking Jana's class where she taught the floral eruption pendant using kaleidoscope canes for petals, I started making dimensional flowers from the petal canes I make. It's a really nice departure from working flat and having to sand and smooth everything. I don't update my site very much, but I have been making them for about a year now. I still have not decided if I am going to enter Bead Dreams this year or not. I figured I would not enter at all, but then I decided to get a booth there this year, and of course, it would be really good advertising for me to at least have a piece on display as a finalist...so I am kinda torn about it. I am sure that your piece will be very different from mine and there's a good chance that I won't even be entering...I need to make that decision soon, I guess!
